
Thank you for your interest in our summer positions. The Fitness For Kids Summer Camp is a day camp program for girls and boys ages 5-14 who are looking for a challenging and enriching experience in a supportive, community setting. The program includes physical fitness, sports, games, arts and crafts, special events, swimming, and academics. This year's camp runs from June 8th to August 14thst , 2009 and includes 10 weekly sessions that begin at 7:30 a.m. and finish at 6:00 p.m.
We are currently seeking people with diverse skills and experience to meet our staffing needs. If you are interested in joining our staff this summer, please review the program and position descriptions below, then complete and send in the application along with two completed Staff Leadership Reference Forms, resume, and copies of your certifications. Once we receive your application we will contact you to arrange a personal interview. Following the interview, we will check your references, perform a background check, and speak to you in more detail about the position.
All staff is required to be a minimum of a freshman in college, have solid experience working with children, and possess good communication skills. We are seeking applicants with a willingness to learn and work hard as a team player to create a great summer camp experience for children. A commitment to quality programming, attention to safety and a sense of humor are a must. Standard First Aid, CPR and a valid driver's license are required. Lifeguard and Water Safety Instruction training are highly desirable.
Academic Instructors: Must hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate . Will be responsible for planning and teaching lessons that follow the Florida Sunshine State Standards in reading, writing, and math for grades K-8 with a focus on fitness and wellness. Aquatic Staff: Must hold appropriate certifications (Lifeguard / WSI) and have experience in working with children and instructional swimming.
